Energy efficiency verification of hot water boilers
15/02/2021
All hot water boilers in operation are subject to energy efficiency verifications, depending on the type of fuel used and their rated power, as follows:
- liquid or solid fuel with a rated power of 20 to 100 kW, inclusive;
- liquid or solid fuel with a rated power exceeding 100 kW;
- natural gas with a rated power exceeding 100 kW.
For boilers with a lifetime of more than 15 years, the energy efficiency verification also includes a one-off assessment of the heating installation.
The main tasks of the energy efficiency verification of hot water boilers are as follows:
- evaluating the conformity of the existing set-up, operation and maintenance of the boiler with the manufacturer's requirements;
- evaluating the actual energy performance of the boiler;
- making recommendations for possible improvements to the boiler's energy performance in order to reduce the consumption of energy resources and carbon dioxide emissions;
- providing information on compiling and maintaining a database on the condition of the boilers.
The results of the energy efficiency verification of hot water boilers are reflected in the "Energy Efficiency Inspection of Hot Water Boilers Report".
The report reflects the calculated heat output of the boiler and the calorific value of the fuel used.
